Remembrance 2021

This week members of the Armed Forces in Britain and the Commonwealth, and their families, are commemorated and remembered for their service.

Whilst there are no formal ceremonies at Hardway, the Memorial gardens make a peaceful and reflective location for anyone wishing to a pause for a personal act of Remembrance on Armistice Day, Thursday 11th November or Remembrance Sunday (14th November).

If you wish to join a ceremony on Remembrance Sunday (14th) there are a choice across Gosport:-

Gosport War Memorial - Civic Ceremony

An armed guard, courtesy of HMS Sultan, will form up on the road opposite the War Memorial Hospital. Joining them will be representatives from the Royal British Legion, veterans groups, Scouts, Guides, Sea Cadets, Air Cadets and other local organisations.

The parade will step off at 10.30am. The ceremony, conducted by the Rev Deacon Erica Wilkie, chaplain to the Royal British Legion, will start at 10.58am. Music will be provided by Gosport Solent Brass, and a bugler from the HMS Sultan Volunteer Band will sound Last Post and Reveille.
