D-Day 80 Commemoration Service Hardway

Hardway witnessed the deployment of thousands of troops on D-Day 6th June 1944 and continued supporting the allied forces throughout Operation Overlord. With the 80th anniversary of D-Day this year we are delighted to confirm that a commemoration service is to be held at Hardway.

Commemoration Service - Hardway Memorial Green

On Sunday 9th June a Civic Parade to mark the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings will take place with an Unarmed Guard courtesy of HMS Sultan.

Musical support will be provided by the Royal Marine Volunteer Cadet Band alongside a local school Choir.

Revd Emma McPhail will lead the service incorporating a two minute silence at 11.00am.

We hope the Hardway community will once again join Friends of Hardway at this commemoration service to remember those who lost their lives in

World War II and to recognise the important role Hardway played during

Operation Overlord.
