Summer of Free Events

Thank you to our friends at Oarsome Chance and Dointhedo for delivering a fantastic week of free activities at the heart of Hardway.

As a community we should rightly be proud of the positive response taken to seasonal ASB by providing free on the water activities for young people during the summer holidays. We hope doing this contributes to encouraging a respect for our community, residents, it’s public spaces and the water.

Oarsome Chance organisers have told us that during the week 9th - 13th August "around 240 paddlers were out on the water - The sun shone pretty much throughout the week and loads of fun was had by all."

This programme is made possible by the hard work of many people within Friends of Hardway behind the scenes during the winter months but deserving a special mention is our volunteer fundraiser and the energetic champion of this youth programme, Jamie Hutchison, who importantly secured the funding for the event programme to go ahead.

Oarsome Chance pop up watersports sessions will be back 23-27 August. If you’ve not booked a place there will be a limited number of walk ups available each day.

Fishing Trips - This activity has been made possible by Gosport Community Lottery, Abri and DoinTheDo

Pop Up Watersports - This activity has been made possible by a grant awarded by the National Lottery and delivery of the activities by the team at Oarsome Chance
